Chulgiri Jain Temple

Chulgiri, which is surrounded by the Aravali, is a magnificent Jain holy site. On top of the northernmost point of the Jhalana Range stands the well-known Jain temple of Digambara shrine. Another name for the Chulgiri temple is Siddha Bhoomi. According to legend, Indrajeet and Kumbhakaran, the son of Rama, have both allegedly visited these sacred sites for meditation and a sense of release. Not only is this temple well-known in India but also throughout the entire world. Similar to how a celebration called Panch Kalyanak originated in May 1982, a significant event (festival) is organized here every year in the month of May.

The Chulgiri Jain temple, a well-known shrine, was established in 1953. When Jain Acharya Shri Desh Bhushan Ji Maharaj visited this area, he believed it to be a wonderfully peaceful place for completing his penance. He chose these hills as the site of his mortification and, after a few months, decided to convert them into a Jain temple, giving them the name Chulgiri. The calm and serene surroundings help you become more religious. On Chulgiri hill, there are 11 temples, while there are 19 more at the base. There are many hiking routes in this area that go to various places of worship.

Because it was constructed amidst the Aravalli hills, the foundation of the Chulgiri Jain temple in Jaipur presented its own set of difficulties. The main temple is up a hill, 1000 steps away. When three superb statues made of white stone were introduced in 1966, the temple became filled with amazement. These three statues honor Shree Parshavnath, Mahaveer Swami, and Neminath, the three most well-known Tirthankars. Later, the 24 Thirthankar statues were added, and a small water tank was constructed to collect rainwater for use in worshiping and dedicating the gods. HISTORY OF CHULGIRI TEMPLE JAIPUR

Initially, three magnificent statues made of white stone were put up in 1966. These three statues honor the three most well-known Tirthankars: Neminath, Mahaveer Swami, and Shree Parshavnath. The Mahaveer Swami sculpture is around 3.5 feet tall, whereas the Parshavnath statue is 7 feet high. Later, the 24 Thirthankar statues were added, and a small water tank was constructed to collect rainwater for use in worshiping and dedicating the gods. Every year in the month of May, a significant event (festival) is held here in a manner similar to the large festival known as Panch Kalyanak, which was held in May 1982. At that time, a stunning statue of Mahaveer Swami made of white stone, standing 21 feet tall, was erected, and a 60-foot-tall dome was also constructed to cover this delicious sculpture. Because the sculpture is so stunning and lifelike, it gives the impression that you are in front of an almighty when you are standing before it. The Jain Yantra, which is another stunning feature of this temple and weighs around 40 kg and is embossed on a copper plate, was installed on the temple's rooftop. A reservoir with a capacity of 1.8 million liters has just been constructed for the storage of rainwater.

the best time to visit is from October to February, going to the temple in summer is not advertised however the event celebrated in the month of May should not be missed either

Chulgiri Hills?

The distance between Chulgiri and Jaipur's center is about 20 kilometers. It is simple to arrange for cabs or taxis to drop you off at the "Ghat ki Gunni" tunnel, from whence you must hike to the top of the Chulgiri hills. You can also take a local bus up to Ghat ki Gunni and then walk or hike the rest of the way.

Drive/ride cycle to the Top of the Hill to directly reach Jain Mandir

If you are not willing to walk the steps, there is an alternative. You can drive right up to the Jain Mandir in your car. The summit of the hill can be reached through a well-kept road. If you choose, you can even cycle down this road.

Additionally, there is no fee-based parking. However, parking a car is rather dangerous because there is no one to watch over it despite there being plenty of space.
